This package is designed for those who want to explore the fascinating past of Cambodia through the incredible Angkor temples, and to experience how modern Khmer people live their lives. This is a flexible package giving you the structure of an itinerary, but allowing you to set your own pace. Evenings are left free and morning start times are flexible, making this package perfect for those intending on sampling the local nightlife. A 3-day temple pass ($40pp) is required for this tour, temple passes are sold directly from Angkor Park entrance and is not included in the package. Please note that should you choose not to undertake any element of this package after booking, we do not deduct this from the package price.
Day 1
Transfer to River Village Manor and check in.
Your day one activities are dependent on your arrival time and your travel interests. We will happily discuss all options when you arrive.
Take a leisurely cruise around the streets of Siem Reap in Tuk-tuk, drive pass some bars and restaurants and see the daily lives of the Khmer people.
Depending on time available, you may like to do some elements or all of the following:
- Shopping Tour of markets around Siem Reap. Visit our tiny local market, built over the Siem Reap River, where you will not see another tourist, but will get to see the way real Cambodian daily commerce is conducted. Visit a huge traditional market with a wide range of goods, where locals do much of their shopping. And finally experience the atmosphere of the Old Market, with a mixture of local produce and great souvenir shops.

- Gallery Tour around Siem Reap. See or buy the best of local art at a selection of galleries including Artisans d’Angkor, Mc Dermott Gallery and Happy Painting Gallery.

- Visit the new Angkor National Museum ($12 per person ticket price not included in package) The museum offers eight chronologically ordered galleries of Angkorian-era artifacts and multi-media presentations Khmer history and culture. On the way back stop at some exclusive souvenir stores.

Guided tour of Angkor Wat Archaelogical Park. Temple guide will escort you to all the most amazing sites including Angkor Wat, The Bayon, Angkor Thom, Phimeanakas, Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. Your guide can show you many other fascinating sites as you desire, at your own pace.

Day 3
Sunrise at Angkor Wat. Our driver will take you to Angkor Wat for some fantastic sunrise photo opportunities. The early start will be well worth it.
Return to River Village Manor for freshly prepared breakfast.
No more temples today! Today we explore the life and culture of Cambodians with a half day trip to stilted village of Kompong Phhluk, including a boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake. Don’t forget your camera as this trip reveals a picturesque insight into Cambodia life that has remained unchanged for centuries. Wander through the village, explore the flooded forest and take a relaxing trip out to the lake.
Return to Siem Reap for lunch, where a large selection of local and international cuisines are available.
National Silk Centre – the 16km journey takes you past some beautiful scenery including rice paddies, villages and buffaloes. Enjoy an interesting tour of the silk farm including the breeding of Cambodian silk worms, the silk extraction process and the creation of some amazing products. The centre also exhibits some fascinating old looms as well as traditional Khmer dance costumes. (Admission costs not included in package). A garden restaurant is available to relax and refresh with a coffee, a cold beer, or a snack.

Day 4
Early morning trip to Ta Prohm. This is the amazing site also known as the Tomb Raider Temple. Restoration teams have done a marvelous job of leaving the incredible forest growth as they found it. Live out your Indiana Jones fantasy! Early morning is the most atmospheric time to visit this amazing place, and we get there before most of the other tourists arrive.
Return to River Village Manor for full breakfast.
Outlying Temples Trip. Today we visit both the beautiful Banteay Srey and Kral Spean. Banteay Srei, the Ladies Temple is the most intricately carved temple in all of Angkor. After a break for lunch (not included in package), we journey on to Kbal Spean, where you explore the jungle during a 2 km walk to the River of 1000 Lingas. Carved directly into the riverbed are a number of incredible sights. Enjoy more scenes of the beautiful Cambodian countryside on the 30km journey home.

Today’s activities will depend on your departure time.
- A final visit to Siem Reap town for shopping, a coffee, and a massage perhaps.
- If you have time you may wish to visit one of the many N.G.O’s (Non-profit charitable organisation) operating in Siem Reap.
- Hotel check out and transfer to the airport.

Accommodation – 4-nights twin share accommodation in a Deluxe Room at River Village Manor. This room has two double beds or one king bed made up with quality linen and serviced daily. Please indicate at the time of booking your desired bedding configuration. Enjoy this lovely hotel room with multi-channel, multi-lingual cable TV, air conditioning, and en-suite with hot water shower.
Transport – Our drivers are specially selected for their English skills, professionalism, safety and good customer services. Most transport will be in a Tuk-tuk (a cabin attached to a motorbike), but we also have a 15 seat air-conditioned Mercedes van for more than four guests.
Breakfast – 4 full breakfast for each person at River Village Manor. Choose from the full range of delicious options on our menu.
Angkor Wat Guide – We provide a full day English-speaking tour guide for your visit to Angkor Wat Archaeological Park. Other languages are available on request. APSARA licensed guides are very well trained and are sure to enhance your temple experience. Your guide can be booked for additional days (book early!) at $30 per day.
